SMART Goals are important for your success in the DAAD Lab. They help you find a focus for your projects as well as keep track of your engagement. Each part of the SMART goal plays an essential part.
SPECIFIC- When writing a goal, you want to make sure to include as much information as possible. What tools you will use (Photoshop, Inkscape, Punch!)? What are you going to do with it? How will you share your final product (picture? video? website?)
MEASURABLE- Your SMART goal needs to include some way in which to measure your success. How will you see your growth and how far you've come from day one? You may choose to measure your success in the form of a digital portfolio showcasing a series of work.
ATTAINABLE- Is it possible to complete your goal in a (5 or 10) day period? This is important to keep in mind as you engage in new technology with steep learning curves. RELEVANT- Is this goal relevant to the DAAD lab? TIME- BOUND Each engagement in DAAD takes a (5 or 10)-day period, including the exploration day and the presentation day. Having a specific focus for each day will help you successfully reach the main goal of the project. When writing your SMART goal it is essential to have this included. Start with something like, "Over the next (five or ten) days..."
